Taunton hit with back-to-back shootings. What chief says is happening

Taunton Police Chief Ed Walsh is sounding the alarm after Taunton was hit with back-to-back shootings in the course of two weeks.

“These are kids with guns. Someone is going to die from this. Someone is going to get shot,” he said in an interview with the Gazette during a ride-along visit to the two shooting scenes on Thursday, June 11. “We had one person got shot the other night (on Tuesday, June 9) by mistake. It was a ricochet, but sooner or later someone is going to die. It may not be one of the kids involved. It’s just going to be someone who’s in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

On Tuesday, June 9, a 27 year old was injured at a shooting on Martel Avenue in Taunton. Less than two weeks earlier, Taunton was hit with a shooting on Adams Street on Sunday, May 31, which left two people with gunshot wounds…
