McKee shut out as Foulkes wins Dem endorsements in Providence, 3 other cities

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Gov. Dan McKee’s reelection struggles worsened on Wednesday night, as Democrats in four of Rhode Island’s biggest cities all voted to endorse his primary challenger Helena Foulkes.

The Democratic City Committees in Providence, Warwick, Cranston and Woonsocket voted at separate meetings to back Foulkes over the incumbent, bringing the number of local party committees that have endorsed her to 13. Democrats in two communities, Pawtucket and North Providence, have backed McKee.
