Fall River Officials Reflect on a Difficult Chapter
“The City has moved on, and I hope everyone has learned from that difficult chapter,” Fall River City Council President Cliff Ponte said.
The Boston Herald’s Tim Dunn reported that Correia, now 34 years old, “is set to be released from a federal prison in Kentucky on Saturday after serving just over four years of a six-year sentence for defrauding investors in a smartphone app and extorting money from marijuana companies doing business in the city.”
“Fall River deserves honest government, and there can never be any tolerance for corruption or abuse of the public trust,” Ponte said.
