Local man held without bail in Superior Court after allegedly breaking into Fall River home, attacking homeowner with knife

A local man faced a judge Friday after previously being arrested by Fall River Police late last year.

According to police, on December 27th, the Fall River Police Patrol Bureau responded to a reported stabbing at a residence on the 1000 block of Laurel Street. An unknown male later identified as 28-year-old Gahetan Jean-Louis, entered the home uninvited and proceeded inside. When confronted by the homeowner and asked if he was in the wrong house or needed help, Jean-Louis suddenly attacked him with a knife.

The victim was stabbed multiple times. Family members witnessed the assault, attempted to intervene, and briefly restrained Jean-Louis before he fled the residence. A black folding pocket knife was later located on the stairs and secured as evidence…
