PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Saturday marked the first night of a new pilot program in Providence aimed at cutting down on nighttime noise at Roger Williams Park.
By closing off certain roads within the park at 9 p.m., the City of Providence is hoping to curb the pop-up parties, speeding, and reckless driving that’s become a concern for people who live near the park.
“It’s a beautiful place, but it can get really noisy at times,” said Ron Gerwatowski. “So we’re really happy they’re taking some steps.”…
