New law aims to provide protections for warehouse workers in Rhode Island

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Rhode Island warehouse workers will soon have new protections on the job after Gov. Dan McKee signed the Warehouse Worker Protection Act into law Monday.

The law requires warehouse employers to provide workers with written productivity quotas when they’re hired and whenever those expectations change. It also prohibits employers from setting quotas that interfere with legally required meal breaks or restroom access.
