CRANSTON, R.I. (WJAR) — With the memory of a triple stabbing at the Whaling City Festival in New Bedford still fresh, Cranston police are taking extra security precautions as another major local tradition gets underway.
This year, law enforcement is making a heightened effort to ensure safety at the annual St. Mary’s Feast, following violent incidents near the festival grounds in each of the past two years.
