Mayor Ken Hopkins to return antique sports car he was accused of stealing

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Cranston Mayor Ken Hopkins will return an antique car he was accused of stealing under a settlement that resolves part of a yearslong dispute with businessman Davide Broccoli.

The agreement was reached after weeks of court negotiations involving the two men and the city. As part of the deal, Hopkins and Broccoli agreed Friday to dismiss claims against each other.

“I believe with the level of public attention to this matter during my re-election campaign, an announcement of the conclusion of this aspect of the 2024 litigation is appropriate,” Hopkins said in a lengthy statement shared with Target 12 on Friday…
