Despite rain, PVD FanZone draws some patrons on Saturday

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — It’s the final weekend of the World Cup, as well as the PVD FanZone in downtown Providence.

The rain on Saturday forced the city to delay the opening of the outdoor venue until 5 p.m., but the bad weather didn’t keep some fans from stopping by Station Park to catch the penultimate match.

An Air Quality Alert was also in effect due to the wildfire smoke from the Midwest and Canada.
