PROVIDENCE (WPRI) — Brown University is sponsoring a special WaterFire Saturday night to honor first responders and community partners who helped the University in the wake of the tragic shooting on December 13 of last year.
The event is part of the “Brown Loves Providence” initiative which the University is using to reciprocate the care and compassion the Rhode Island community showed in the aftermath of the tragic shooting.
In a statement, Brown President Christina H. Paxson said the event is to highlight the unity in the community in the face of tragedy. “By welcoming city leaders, first responders, business owners and community partners to gather with their families at WaterFire, we recognize their service and sacrifices during a deeply challenging time,” she said…
