EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — In recent years, more Rhode Island high school students have been taking Advanced Placement exams and excelling.
AP exams are standardized tests that correspond with high school AP courses. The tests are administered toward the end of the school year and scored on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best.
Many colleges and universities will give high schoolers college credit if they score a 3, 4 or 5 on the tests, giving students the opportunity to potentially graduate from college early and save money in the process.
