As departments race toward drones that answer 911 calls practically on their own, civil-liberties advocates are calling for a statewide policy governing how the technology is used.
Target 12 surveyed all 39 law enforcement agencies in the state (every municipal department plus the R.I. State Police) found that 28 have acquired drones, with an estimated 132 of the devices now in operation statewide.
