FALL RIVER, Mass. (WJAR) — A former employee of a Fall River diner says she was fired after her fiancé posted on Facebook about Democratic U.S. Sen. Ed Markey’s upcoming visit to the restaurant. However, the owner of Al Mac’s diner says that’s not why she was fired.
The post referred to Markey as, “probably if not one of the worst senators in the United States.” In it, Tyler Dasilva, whose fiancé Shiann Rioux had worked at Al Mac’s Diner for eight years, went on to write, “I wonder if he will answer my questions I have.”
