During two consecutive days, Saturday, August 15, 2026, and Sunday, August 16, 2026, the Island Rhodes Music Festival took place at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA. The first-year festival assembled a diverse lineup, featuring on the inaugural day: Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, Iration, Action Bronson, DENM, Bumpin Uglies, Grateful Dub, and Beach Fly. The second day highlighted Rebelution, The Roots, SOJA, The Original Wailers, HIRIE, The Expendables, Joe Samba, and Crooked Coast.
As a photographer, live music enthusiast, and veteran of festivals large and small, I noticed several distinctive details. A metal fence enclosed the VIP area directly in front of the stage, where hundreds of fans enjoyed an up-close view of the performers. Beyond the fence, thousands of general-admission attendees either stood near the stage or watched from the stadium seats, while families spread blankets and set up picnic-style spaces with their children on the large grassy area surrounding the venue.
The festival’s single-stage format was also unusual. Rather than rushing between stages, attendees remained in one place while a rotating stage allowed bands to transition quickly between performances.
