West Nile virus found again in Providence, Cranston

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — State health and environmental officials are reminding Rhode Islanders to protect themselves against mosquito bites after West Nile virus was detected in the two biggest cities.

Mosquito samples collected Aug. 17 in Providence and Cranston tested positive for the virus, officials said Thursday.

The state’s risk level for West Nile virus is remains “high.”…
