NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — A multi-vehicle crash shut down all northbound traffic Friday afternoon on I-295 in North Attleboro.
The Attleboro Fire Department responded to the highway at mile marker 3.4 after a collision between two tractor-trailers and an SUV.
Heavy delays and gridlock reportedly made it difficult to access the scene. One of the trucks, which was carrying sand, had rolled onto its side and was blocking every lane.
Not only did the truck’s sand spill across the roadway, but it was also leaking a significant amount of fluids, according to officials. Crews used bins and sand to contain the fluid and prevent it from reaching the ground and storm drains…
