WEST WARWICK, RI (WPRI) — This week’s Cardi’s Furniture & Mattresses Hometown Sports Hero is Nick Andruchow.
The West Warwick senior is picking up where he left off last fall, a year that saw him average 102 rushing yards per game, with 13 touchdowns in eight games. Those numbers helped the Wizards to a 6-2 league mark and a spot in the Division II state semifinals.
“When his time came, he kind of like owned it,” West Warwick head football coach Wes Pennington said. “We just saw him develop game by game last year as the season went on, and he just got better and better, to where coming into this season, he’s definitely one of the better running backs, I think, in the league.”…
