EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Florida man is accused of threatening to kill East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva and his family through a series of emails and social media posts, according to court documents obtained by 12 News.
Thomas David Aaron Wazlavek, 41, was arrested at his Panama City home last month on a fugitive from justice charge.
He’s expected to be extradited to Rhode Island, where he will face a felony charge of threatening a public official and a misdemeanor charge of cyberstalking/cyberharassment.
Some of the comments Wazlavek allegedly left on DaSilva’s official Facebook page threatened to place the mayor “feet first into the woodchipper,” “burn” his house down if he doesn’t “get the [expletive] out of politics,” and kill DaSilva and his family. He also threatened to visit the mayor’s wife, said DaSilva “[expletive] with the wrong union” and “rallied those on the thread to ‘denaturalize Bob and his #chainmigration family,'” according to police…
