Bruce McCrea – better known as Rudy Cheeks – died on Saturday. That’s according to a Facebook post by his brother, Scott McCrea.
Also widely known as “Jorge” – one-half of the satirical newspaper column “Philippe and Jorge’s Cool, Cool world” with collaborator, the late Chip Young – he also worked as a radio talk show host and occasionally was seen on local TV chat shows; he also appeared in motion pictures.
The Phillipe and Jorge column was a staple in the alternative weekly paper, the Providence Phoenix, and when that publication folded the column was picked up by Motif Magazine.
