Although the worst of the nor’easter is behind us, we’re still experiencing rain, breezy winds and some coastal flooding from this storm that just won’t leave us alone. But just hang on a little longer. Better days are coming with sunshine and warmer temperatures.
So, as we continue moving through this Monday, expect periods of on-and-off light to moderate rain around central and eastern Massachusetts. Most of the rain will pivot to the north late tonight toward New Hampshire and Maine. Still, keep in mind that a Flood Watch continues until late tonight for parts of southern New England, including Greater Boston.
Southeastern Mass and Rhode Island got hit the hardest with the rain, with some communities receiving more than 6 inches of rain over the past 72 hours. And with more rain expected through the day, excessive runoff will increase the flood risk of rivers, creeks, streams, and low-lying areas. Turn around, don’t drown.
Our winds today won’t be nearly as gusty and destructive as the weekend. But still, winds could gust up to 25 mph at times. A Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until late tonight. Some minor coastal flooding is possible around high tide. Today’s high tide time at Boston Harbor was at 12:51 p.m. Another high tide will happen around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday.
