DARTMOUTH, MA – According to a press release issued by the Dartmouth Police Department on Sunday, February 11, 2024, the Dartmouth Police made a significant arrest in the early hours of Friday, February 9, 2024, apprehending a Fall River woman for failure to stop and possessing a stolen motor vehicle.
According to the press release, at around 2:38 a.m., Dartmouth Police Officer Caden Kehoe attempted to halt a 2007 Toyota Corolla on Old Westport Road after discovering it had been reported stolen.
In an attempt to evade law enforcement, the vehicle accelerated, prompting Dartmouth Police Sergeant Paul O’Donnell to deploy a tire deflation device.
Despite having deflated tires, the driver, identified as Janessa Quino, 21, of Brayton Avenue, Fall River, persisted in trying to escape.
The vehicle ultimately came to a safe stop on Hathaway Road near Tradewind Street.
Quino was promptly arrested and charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to stop for the police.
