Storm’s Hardest Hit Area Expected To Be Southeastern MA

TAUNTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Let the record show that the state’s first snowflakes of this nor’easter started to fall in the Taunton area this morning at around 6 a.m.

Forecasters say with the storm’s shift to the south, the southeastern part of the region is expected to take the biggest hit with 9-plus inches of snow possible.

WBZ’s James Rojas is in Taunton talking with people out and about in the snow. This resident said the snow is wet and heavy and accumulating quickly. “When I got up at 6 o’clock there was nothing on the road,” he said. “I left for work 15 minutes later and the snow was already sticking to the ground.”

Another said it’s typical of New England weather to go from warm temperatures over the weekend to a winter storm in just a day or so. “It’s so weird how the weather was 60 degrees on Saturday,” she said.
