(WJAR) – Bishop Robert P. Deeley announced Tuesday that Pope Francis has named a Providence priest to be the next bishop of the Diocese of Portland, Maine. Rev. James Ruggieri, pastor of both Saint Michael the Archangel Parish and Saint Patrick Parish in Providence, will be ordained and installed as a bishop on May 7, the diocese said.
