RISPCA’s Paws in the Park fundraiser set for Goddard Memorial State Park next Saturday

WARWICK – The Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will hold its 22nd annual Paws in the Park dog walk Saturday, Sept. 14, at Goddard Memorial State Park in Warwick.

The event is the agency’s largest “peer-to-peer” fundraiser and the RISPCA hopes to raise $20,000.

“We hope to see hundreds of animal lovers,” said Stephanie Van Patten, director of community engagement for the RISPCA.

The event includes a dog walk through the park, a canine costume contest, kids’ activities, as well as food trucks and a vendor marketplace.

It will run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., rain or shine.

The event is open to the public, but those who plan to walk must register for $25. Registration includes an event T-shirt. Registration is at www.givebutter.com/pitp24
