Stop & Shop lowering prices, eliminating 10-cent bag charge in RI

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Stop & Shop announced Tuesday that it’s working to make groceries more affordable at all of its stores in Rhode Island.

In a press release, the supermarket chain said it’s lowering prices on thousands of items, eliminating its paper bag fee, and launching new “Savings Kiosks.”

“We have been listening to our customers – and we have heard you. That is why we’re making it possible to buy more groceries for your family, at a lower cost, at every one of our stores in Rhode Island,” Stop & Shop President Roger Wheeler said. “We’re going to continue to listen to your feedback and will, over time, make even more changes across all areas of the store.”
