Black bear swings by Scituate home

SCITUATE, R.I. (WPRI) — A Scituate couple recently received a surprise visit from a black bear.

Erin McManus told 12 News she and her husband spotted the bear after it wandered onto their back deck.

McManus said the two of them watched the black bear through their security camera as it sniffed around on their deck and in their yard. The bear even tore down one of their suet bird feeders and walked off with it.

Anyone who spots a black bear can report it to the R.I. Department of Environmental Management’s Division of Law Enforcement by calling (401) 222-3070.
