Seen here is the Moshassuck River, or what naturalist Greg Gerrit calls “The Mighty Mo.” He has been studying this historically significant nine-mile waterway for 25 years. The Moshassuck River became the final stretch of the old Blackstone Canal, the 19th-century waterway that linked Worcester to Providence, and on to Narragansett Bay.
