JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Amazon’s fulfillment center on Hartford Avenue in Johnston is officially open.
“We’re very excited that PVD2 is now delivering for customers in Rhode Island and beyond – and just in time for the holiday season, too,” a spokesperson told 12 News on Thursday. “And we’re grateful for the support of policymakers in Johnston and at the state that helped us reach today.”

The spokesperson said operations at the 3.8 million square-foot facility will progressively “ramp up” into 2025.
A job fair was held at the fulfillment center earlier this month.
Another facility in the New England region recently opened in Charlton, Massachusetts. That facility is 2.8 million square-feet.
