Rhode Island officials urge residents to drive sober ahead of holidays

Traffic safety advocates met Thursday to encourage residents in Rhode Island to plan a sober ride home during this holiday season. “Our highway fatalities number eighteen fewer than last year. That means that eighteen people made the right decision,” said Peter Alviti, Director of the Rhode Island Department of Transportation. “This holiday season, we want every person to make a good decision – and to get home safely.”
