New coffee shop, roastery coming to Coventry

COVENTRY, R.I. (WPRI) — Coventry will soon be home to a brand new café and roastery.

Longshore Coffee announced Thursday that its new South Main Street coffee shop will officially open in March.

The locally-owned roastery sells its small batch specialty blends online , as well as at select grocery and retail stores across the state. Freshly brewed cups of hot and iced coffee can also be purchased from Longshore Coffee’s mobile coffee cart .

Stephen Miller first opened Longshore Coffee in 2021 after working as a high school teacher in Providence for six years.

Production has been put on hold until the new roastery is fully operational. However, there will be an “extremely limited supply” of certain blends available for purchase until then.

The roastery itself is expected to be up and running by January.

Longshore Coffee’s most popular blends include Backpack, Boss Babe, Honest Work and Old World. Each specialty blend can be purchased ground or in whole bean form.
