CVS lawsuit: Pharmacists allege understaffed stores, corporate benchmarks jeopardized patient safety

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A federal lawsuit against CVS Health that was unsealed last month accuses the company of unlawfully filling opioid prescriptions in violation of the Controlled Substances Act.

The Boston Globe Rhode Island’s Christopher Gavin joined 12 News at 4 to discuss some of the employee complaints included in the lawsuit, including unrealistic performance standards and “inhumane” working conditions that made it difficult to meet their professional and ethical obligations.
