Providence man pleads guilty to committing bank fraud using fake checks

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom said that a Providence man admitted in court to participating in a conspiracy to defraud banks by creating and depositing tens-of-thousands of dollars’ worth of bogus checks.

43-year-old Jarrod Smith was charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud.
