PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Multiple streets have been blocked off in downtown Providence Saturday night after a manhole cover exploded due to pressure from underground.
Battalion Chief Christopher Gastall at the scene told 12 News smoke was also visible from manhole covers in the area of Pine and Chestnut Streets.
There are electrical units underground, which caused concern, Gastall said. Rhode Island Energy are also on their way to the area…
