12 chickens, parakeet, iguana rescued from Lincoln fire

LINCOLN, R.I. (WPRI) — Lincoln firefighters responded to a home off Old Louisquisset Pike on Tuesday morning after a fire broke out in the basement.

Lincoln Fire Chief Timothy Walsh said crews arrived around 9:30 a.m. to find heavy smoke coming from the back of the house. The homeowner told crews the fire was in the basement.
