PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Providence City Council voted unanimously in favor of a resolution that opens the door to increasing property taxes, but it still needs approval from state lawmakers.
The bill asks for permission for Providence to exceed the state-mandated tax levy cap of 4% for one year. A hearing date has not yet been set.
