Demolition work continues at McCoy Stadium

PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WJAR) — Six years after hosting its last professional game, McCoy Stadium is in the midst of being torn down.

Demolition work started earlier this week. The former home of the Pawtucket Red Sox was built in 1942 and hosted the PawSox from 1970 to 2019.

The stadium has sat vacant since 2019, when the AAA affiliate of the Red Sox moved to Worcester to become the Worcester Red Sox.
