Providence Mayor Smiley proposes to replace trash, recycling carts

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Providence Mayor Brett Smiley announced Thursday a proposal to replace trash and recycling carts.

This aims to tackle issues within the city’s waste collection system, including high recycling contamination, costs associated with rejected recycling, the need of frequent repairs and more, city officials said.
