New RI tax credit program aims to incentivize affordable housing development

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Six development projects across Rhode Island are collectively receiving more than $27 million through a new initiative to support the construction and preservation of affordable housing.

On Thursday, Gov. Dan McKee and R.I. Secretary of Housing Deborah Goddard announced the inaugural recipients of the State Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (SLIHTC).
