Three northern RI students recognized for excellence in academics

PROVIDENCE – Three high school students attending northern Rhode Island schools were among 54 graduating seniors from across the state who were recently recognized with Lt. Governor’s Leadership Awards.

The awards, which honor students who excel in their studies, show dedication to community service, and demonstrate leadership in their schools or communities, were presented in a ceremony at the State House in Providence by Lt. Governor Sabina Matos.

“Reading the nominations for these awards always fills me with hope. Rhode Island has outstanding young people in every community who are committed to service. It’s an honor to recognize them as emerging leaders,” Matos said. “Their efforts motivate all of us at the State House to work hard on their behalf and ensure our state continues to offer opportunities that match their incredible potential.”
