Providence woman lunged for knife. That’s when attacker pulled a gun, according to police

PROVIDENCE − A Providence woman accused a man of pulling out a handgun during an argument on Tuesday May 13 and threatening to kill her, according to Providence police.

The woman told police that the visitor in her Broad Street apartment had initially retrieved a knife from the kitchen while her child was in the apartment, according to Providence police Detective Maj. David Lapatin.

She told them that when she tried to grab the knife, he slammed her to the ground and pulled the handgun from his waistband, Lapatin said.
