Guatemalan national charged with alleged assault of federal officer

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Guatemalan national illegally present in the United States has been detained for allegedly assaulting a federal agent, according to the office of Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Rhode Island Sara Miron Bloom.

Miguel Tamup-Tamup, 28, also known as Miguel US Tamup, is charged with assault, resisting and impeding a law enforcement officer in the performance of official duties.
