Rhode Island Executive Office of Helath and Human Services announced that overdose deaths are at a decline.
Officials said the newly released data from Rhode Island Department of Helath Substance Use Epidemiology Program show that 329 people died from accidental overdose in 2024, which is an 18% decrease compared to 2023.
“This is a sign of hope,” said Gov. Dan McKee. “We know there is still much work ahead, but the steps we are taking are saving lives. We must keep engaging, listening, and providing support to individuals, families, and communities. We will stay vigilant to prevent further loss of lives.”…
