Attorney sentenced in conspiracy to smuggle contraband into Rhode Island federal detention center

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Acting United States Attorney Sara Miron Bloom said that a Massachusetts attorney was sentenced for participating in a conspiracy to smuggle contraband to a detainee housed at the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Center in Rhode Island.

51-year-old Theresa Marie DiJoseph was charged with possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance analogue, conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance, and providing a prohibited object to an inmate.

DiJoseph admitted that she conspired with other individuals to smuggle ten papers soaked with K2, a synthetic marijuana, to inmate Shawn Hart in 2023…
