Petition calls for increased child safety measures in Woonsocket after death of 3-year-old

WOONSOCKET, R.I. (WLNE) — Members of the Woonsocket community have created a petition calling for lawmakers to implement increased child safety measures after a child died from being hit by a car.

On June 26, police said a 3-year-old boy died after he was hit by a car while riding his bike near Mason Street and Tenth Avenue.

The next day, community members created a petition to protect children in Woonsocket’s Fairmount Neighborhood and “prevent future tragedies.”…
