Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III announced that a fatal motor vehicle crash occurred Wednesday on the New Bedford/Fairhaven Bridge on Route 6.
At approximately 11:00 a.m., New Bedford Police and EMS received a 911 call regarding a serious motor vehicle crash on the bridge.
Upon arrival, police located a 2015 Chevy Silverado which was occupied by a 26-year-old male who was transported by EMS for minor injuries. The Silverado had a moderate amount of damage to the front end and came to a rest in the right lane of travel facing eastbound. The second vehicle involved was determined to be a 2001 Mazda Miata which was observed to have catastrophic damage to the front of end of the vehicle. The Miata was located on the eastbound side of the highway facing west as it lost control while crossing the bridge and struck the Silverado. The operator of the Miata was identified as 41-year-old Gregory Crook McGuire of New Bedford. Crook McGuire was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later…
