Providence is set to come alive this weekend with the debut of “Downtown Celebrates Summer,” a two-day festival packed with entertainment, dining, and cultural experiences throughout the capital city.
The festivities kick off Saturday, July 19, marking the final day of Providence Restaurant Weeks, where more than 70 local restaurants will offer special menus and prix fixe deals. Food enthusiasts can also embark on the Downcity Providence Food Tour, a guided culinary journey through the city’s vibrant arts district starting at noon for $79.
Cultural attractions will be in full swing, with the RISD Museum opening its new exhibition “Liz Collins: Motherlode,” celebrating the work of the New York-based artist known for bold abstract patterns. The museum will offer free admission on Sunday.
