Fall River Police Department arrests man on several gun charges, held without bail

The Fall River Police Department made a recent arrest on gun charges.

According to police, on Friday, Neighborhood Engagement & Enforcement Team (N.E.E.T.) officers were on proactive patrol in the Corky Row neighborhood when they observed a known drug-involved female exit the passenger side of a red sedan after a brief and suspicious ride. Believing a drug transaction may have taken place, the officers conducted a motor vehicle stop.

The driver, a 36-year-old male, was identified as Andres A. Perez Melendez. During the investigation, he was found to be in possession of a firearm without a license to carry. The firearm was also equipped with an extended magazine. Perez Melendez was placed under arrest…
