Providence officers to be disciplined, charges dropped in W. Friendship St. incident

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence leaders are dropping charges against four people and disciplining officers who arrested them last month on West Friendship Street, saying the police didn’t follow departmental policies and procedures.

In a press conference last month, Providence Police Col. Oscar Perez released police body-worn camera video and addressed the July 5 incident where police made several arrests at a home on West Friendship Street after officers said residents and partygoers refused to comply with several noise complaints.
