BURRILLVILLE, R.I. (WPRI) — The Rhode Island Department of Health has issued yet another overdose spike alert for four towns Wednesday due to an increase in drug overdoses.
Health officials said between July 30 and Aug. 5, fewer than five non-fatal overdoses happened in Region 1, which consists of Burrillville, Foster, Glocester and Scituate. (The threshold for an alert in that region is two.)
This is the second time an alert has issued for Region 1 in less than a month.
