PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Providence police are investigating after a gas station was robbed at knifepoint.
The robbery happened Monday morning at the Supreme gas station at the corner of Chalkstone and River avenues. According to a city spokesperson, police were told the suspect pulled out a knife, jumped over the counter and tried to open the cash register.
The suspect then ran off with the entire register, leaving the knife behind, the spokesperson said.
